Patent Office Update
A message from Michelle K. Lee–the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office
Since the earliest days of the United States, a strong and courageous spirit of entrepreneurship has shaped our nation. Our duty and privilege at the USPTO is to help these entrepreneurs build their businesses by securing their intellectual property rights, and in turn powering U.S. economic growth. By supporting entrepreneurs, we also help ensure that the next generation sees limitless possibilities for innovation. As National Entrepreneurship Month comes to a close, I thank you for your dedicated service to the USPTO and to all entrepreneurs.
Today the White House highlighted numerous ways the USPTO is advancing possibilities for our nation’s most creative and enterprising minds, with tools like our International IP Toolkit, which provides resources for U.S. businesses to protect their intellectual property abroad; the Patent Pro Bono Program, which provides free legal assistance to inventors; and Patents 4 Patients, which provides a fast-track review for cancer immunotherapy-related patent applications.
Once again, thank you for your public service, on behalf of America’s entrepreneurs.
We at Patterson Thuente are proud to help so many innovators protect their ideas.
Your ideas. Owned.
