Justin N. Woo
Patent Attorney
Justin Woo is an associate with Patterson Thuente whose practice centers on the technology areas of biotech, chemical, medical devices, mechanical arts and materials science. Some recent projects with which he has assisted clients have involved technologies relating to alternative energy, coating technology for consumer products, packaging, food products, and agriculture-related compositions. Professional Experience Prior to law school, Justin worked as an engineering services intern for a biopharmaceuticals manufacturer and as an undergraduate researcher at the University of Minnesota, where he tested copolymers of lactic acid and soy bean oil for use in “green” polylactic acid plastics. He also completed a strategic technologies summer program at General Mills where he researched and developed product processing technologies to improve efficiency and capacity, in addition to developing statistical databases relating to quality assurance. While working in the law offices of the Chicago-Kent Immigration Clinic, Justin also assisted pro bono clients with issues involving the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
